Mod for the Jump Drives (Or the Hyper Drive) if you like starwars (2024)

I was going to start making a mod for space engineers to make a Hyper drive style animation from star wars.

I made a video on Sony Vegas Pro to show what animation i was going to create and this was made by me not any online videos (except sound). Here is the link to my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41UrFENATYA

If Anyone or the develpoers would like to comment on what i am suggesting please comment.

The reason why i am writing this is because i couldnt get the right file from the space engineers directory for the mod all i found was a file called "jump.MWM" which i thought could be the animation to the jump but i have no idea if it is - please help if anyone knows the files and could help me make the idea into a mod or even the developers could take the idea on and put it into this amazing game.

.mwm is the format they use for models, so I'd assume so.

If you download the mod tools on Steam it has all the original files before they're .mwm encoded, will probably help you.

Please post in Suggestion or Modding section, or have the mod move it for you.

allso i think its proper in general discussions, as the question was where and how does SE store its video files.

Yeh i didnt exactly take my time looking for the idea forum and just posted it on the general discussion to just get people to see what could happen in the near future of the game.

I have found the tools (after it went missing on the steam tools had to use external links from the internet) and i have the jump drive on 3DS max 2014 but sadly have not found the sounds or even the animation to the jump drive but will be looking for more also i am going to alter the jump drives textures to look like the star wars hyper drive and probally reduce its size somehow...?

Afaik and I could be corrected here, but I think to change the size of the drive you'd need to scale down the model and edit the cubeblocks file aswell.

I've only seen it in mods, I'm not sure what about modding the source.

I was able to create a scaled down version of the jump drive but was unable to edit the indivedual polygons to recreate the star wars drive and wasnt able to find the main jump animation but i can release the scaled down jump drive however i dont know how to turn the files into the mod file which are the ".SBM"

It's not an animation....they mess with the FOV to give the effect, you should probably check for that.

Alright i will try that out with some c++ and hope for the best

The effect isn't bad but if you could incorporate the co*ckpit view when in use.

at 00:53 for slow motion.

It can be possible but i will need help from the developers on this as there isnt any thing in the files or main code to alter for the slow motion and light speed effects and sadly this could all go down hill from here.

I think you chose the wrong sound. That one sounds like the broken hyperdrive.

The broken Hyper drive adds extra effect as it dosnt sound good without the broken sound.

Nothing Sadly i will only be able to release sounds no picture. Unless the developers can help

This mod is still compatible with newer versions of space engineers and i plan to put it on the steam workshop if anyone has any comments about the mod you can put them below

Good News im almost done with the steam version of the hyper drive but need to fix an error by the audio for the drive

Good work but nevertheless this is about a mod and includes link to mods. So it should be in the modding section. We can't just start posting anything and everything in the general section or it'll turn into a right mess. Please move it.
