Dogs are welcome in most areas of the Presidio, but please observe leash rules. What is the weather like at the Presidio? The San Francisco climate is usually mild, but dress in layers to be prepared for chilly conditions, especially as the famous fog rolls in.

Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas. Begin by heading uphill along the Alta Hennessey Trail with views looking out over Lake Hennessey. From this point, you will head downhill towards the Shoreline Trail and follow this back towards the start point.

Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. This is a short and enjoyable paved multi-use path through wooded areas. For a longer route, you can continue on the Blue Trail. Accessibility: There are 3 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Turke Roost at the north end of the trail.

Pets are not permitted in Muir Woods.

The park is very small and can get very crowded. To protect the wildlife, other visitors, and your pet, we suggest that you visit nearby areas such as the Coastal Trail at Muir Beach, and some trails in the Marin Headlands where they are permitted.

Golden Gate Park, visited by 13 million people a year, is one of San Francisco's greatest treasures. There are four dog play areas in Golden Gate Park including an all-sand dog training area in the northwest corner of the park.

Shirt and shoes are required (no cleats or wheeled shoes). Only food and beverages purchased in the cafés are allowed in the cafés and adjoining terraces. City ordinance does not permit smoking or vaping in the museum or park. Only service and support animals are allowed in the museum.

While you can't take your dog with you to walk on the bridge itself, you and your dog can enjoy great views from several perspectives at vista points on either end of the bridge and in the Marin Headlands.

A dog may only be off-leash on private property with the property owner's consent. If you have a dog your county has deemed dangerous, you might have stricter dog restraint rules, such as muzzling your dog on walks. Most counties in California have similar dog leash laws.

These regulations protect both pets and wildlife from disease and each other. The National Park Service has prohibited pets on trails for many years. In particular, some pets chase wildlife, pollute water sources, and can become defensive and dangerous in unfamiliar surroundings.

This beautiful parcel of land surrounds a portion of the St. Louis River. The river's gorge, steep valleys, unique rock formations, and thick forests all combine to make this a furrific park your pup won't want to miss. One of the park's main attractions is the pawsome network of trails.

The park's plants, animals, and all natural and cultural features are protected by law. DOGS are allowed only in the parking lots and picnic areas, but NOT on the beach and trails (except for service animals).

Pets are allowed in St. George Island State Park in designated areas only and must be on a six-foot handheld leash and under the control of the owner.

In Glacier National Park

Dogs on leash are also allowed in the village areas (Many Glacier, Lake McDonald, and Apgar). Dogs are also allowed on the bike trails around Apgar and along Highway 2 west of West Glacier.
